Manager - hana jensen

It is a privilege to be a part of an organisation supporting and empowering women in Wellington.

I am passionate about supporting those in my community and proud to be part of the Collective. I am excited to continue grow and strengthen our offering to those in need.

Counsellor - Adele Yee

Kia ora. I know that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, and it is important to me that you feel safe and supported when we are together. I believe that every person has different needs and perspectives, and I draw on a range of counselling modalities to work in a way that suits you. My goal is to work together with you as a team - by combining my skills as a counsellor with your strengths and experiences - so the influence problems have on your life is reduced. I encourage feedback because it is important to me that my work is helpful and respectful.

Support Worker - Catherine Kohler

Coming from a background working with charities, vulnerable communities, and mental well-being, I am consistently amazed at the resilience of women. We are blessed with many gifts and also face many challenges, often invisible or silent, and so I hope to walk this path with WHC to awareness, care, and uplifting the feminine. When women thrive, our community thrives.

student counsellor (Final Year) - juliet white

As a person-centered, empathetic, and pluralistic counsellor, I hope to provide a safe space for clients to engage in the exploration of their emotions, with an aim to improve mental wellbeing. I am passionate about helping people express their thoughts and feelings, so we can collaboratively work through them and towards their goals.

I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey.

Our Board

board chair (acting) - Anita Edwards

I’m passionate about accessible mental health support and love being a part of WWHC. I have held various roles here, including volunteering as a Counsellor for two years and as a member of the Change Committee and now as a Board member.

We’ve had a very busy few years and I am really proud to be part of an amazing group of people who come together bound by feminist beliefs and the desire and capacity to give time, energy, knowledge and skills. With a shared intention to sustain and grow our services, I am excited to see some of our new iniatives develop in the coming years.

Board member - Sally Myles

I believe access to the information we need, when we need it empowers us all to live our best lives. I have been an active feminist for over fifty years and I am excited to join the collective who have been supporting and empowering women in Wellington for thirty five years. I have worked in the information sector for forty and am now making time to use the skills I learned during those years to support our local communities. When I am not engaged with board work I will be found spending time with my extended family, writing and supporting former refugee families to settle into our wonderful city.

Board member - Lucy O’Connor

Values around compassion, accessibility, community, and dignity ignited my interest in the work of WWHC. I feel privileged to join an organisation that has been actively supporting Wellington women since 1986 and acknowledge the contributions of those who have nurtured the journey thus far. I bring skills and experience across communications and strategy to the Collective, and am motivated to craft a future of sustainability and growth alongside an incredibly passionate team.

Treasurer - Tracy Mcdonald

Professionally I have worked as a chartered accountant for 30 years. I thoroughly enjoy the opportunities the financial understanding bring to all facets of life and feel privileged to have worked in a field I have and still do feel passionate about. The skill set has brought me the opportunity to work with the WWHC. I again feel privileged to be able to combine my passion for finance and my passion for woman to excel in their contribution to a balanced, intelligent and well nurtured community
